This course combines academic study, hands-on experience and group projects to ensure you develop the essential practical and communication abilities required by employers in the chemical engineering and processing industries. Chemical engineering is at the forefront of the quest to produce clean energy and satisfy human needs across a number of areas in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. These areas include pharmaceuticals, health, food, drink, oil, gas, petrochemicals, agriculture, fine chemicals and materials. The BEng (Hons) course is accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) under license from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council. Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets the high standards set by the Engineering Council in the UK for Professional Engineering Competence (UKSPEC). The curriculum is designed to satisfy internationally recognised accreditation requirements.
