The beautiful University of Aberdeen dates to 1495 when it was founded by William Elphinstone with the founding principle of ‘Open to all and dedicated to the pursuit of truth in the service of others.’ It is the 5th oldest university in the UK and many of its original subjects are still taught to this day. There are 12 schools: Business School Divinity, History and Philosophy Education Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture Law Social Science Biological Sciences Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition Psychology Engineering Geosciences Natural and Computing Sciences Postgraduate Research School Research Institutes There are two campuses at Kings College (1495) and Foresterhill, both linked by bus.
