Cardiac Physiology is a challenging but rewarding field focused on detecting and quantifying heart disease across diverse clinical settings. Our program balances academic and clinical modules equally, equipping you with life-changing specialist care skills. You'll study cardiovascular, respiratory and sleep physiology in your first year before specializing in cardiac physiology during years two and three, mastering diagnostic equipment operation and clinical data interpretation. Based at Southampton General Hospital and Highfield campus, you'll gain hands-on experience in our dedicated cardiac skills lab while benefiting from extensive patient interaction and workplace training across out-patient departments, wards, theatres and ITU. Upon graduation, you'll qualify for registration with both the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHS) and the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP), prepared to make critical decisions in patient care through your technical expertise and clinical knowledge.
