The Department of Classics currently has expertise in the following areas within this field: Modern Greek culture and literature, Greek history in the 19th and 20th centuries, Byzantine culture, including archaeology and architecture, Cyprus from Late Antiquity to the early modern era, Early Christian and Late Antique history, literature and religion. The Department hosts the Centre of Hellenic Studies, that brings together scholars based at King’s with an interest in various aspects of Greek culture. The CHS organises a series of public events (annual lectures, international conferences, workshops and seminars) and collaborates with a number of institutions (British School at Athens, The Anglo-Hellenic League, the Society for Modern Greek Studies, the Hellenic Foundation for Culture) that promote the study of Hellenism in all its facets.
Master's Degree with Merit in a closely related subject, with minimum of Merit in the dissertation element also.
