The integration of business operations and the latest technology is creating a complex environment for organisations, driving demand for individuals who have expertise in both areas. Our Business Technology BSc will equip you with cutting-edge skills and knowledge, preparing you to address the technological challenges you may encounter working in areas such as tech companies, financial services and the public sector.
Youll discover how technology is impacting and enhancing the business environment and develop your understanding of information systems, cybersecurity management and artificial intelligence. You will explore and apply emerging technologies to enhance operations and gain practical experience of applying your technical skills in everyday business situations.
Our curriculum has a strong focus on industry collaboration, and youll explore the fundamentals of business operations including how businesses are impacted by political, economic, technological and societal factors. Contemporary business practices such as project management techniques are analysed, and you'll explore the complexities of strategic management and how it enables organisations to stay competitive and sustainable.
Practical, career-focused teaching and learning ensures that you can apply the theory youre learning to real-world scenarios that will build your expertise and confidence. We will also get you thinking about sustainability and business ethics so when you begin work or start your own business you can be a force for good in the world.
Work placement year
In an increasingly competitive job market, employers are seeking to recruit employees who have high-level knowledge, skills and an understanding of the workplace. Choosing a work placement year between your second and third year is a fantastic way to gain industry experience. It can provide a valuable insight into what working in a specific area of business is like, and gives you the chance to familiarise yourself with the professional working environment and develop professional networks. A work placement also provides you with the opportunity to apply the theory you have learnt on your degree course.
International year
In between years two and three of your studies you can choose to spend a year or a semester studying abroad. This exciting opportunity enables you to understand your field from different cultural perspectives and to establish international networks.
Entrepreneurship year
Showcase your innovative abilities and ideas to develop your business aspirations. If you have ever wanted to establish your own start-up or have been inspired by your studies this entrepreneurship year is an amazing opportunity to develop your own business idea.
Our Foundation Year provides an excellent alternative route to Keele, providing a unique opportunity to better prepare for your chosen degree, and with guaranteed entry onto your undergraduate course once you successfully complete your Foundation Year.
This extra year of study can improve your academic skills, expand your subject knowledge, give you a better understanding of higher education and, perhaps most importantly of all, build your confidence.
