Prepare to become a leader in the hospitality industry with Business Management with Hospitality at Keele. Hospitality is one of the largest sectors in the UK which has a broad umbrella, providing a range of diverse and exciting careers opportunities. Our modern curriculum will prepare you for your career through a blend of practical learning and hands on experience through work placement opportunities.

Learn to navigate operational challenges, understand cross-cultural influences on food and drink, and apply innovative strategies to meet evolving consumer demands. You will gain the skills needed to adapt to industry disruptions, like those posed by firms like Airbnb, with creativity and strategic thinking, amongst other skills needed to succeed in your future career.

BA (Hons) Business Management with Hospitality is part of our dynamic suite of Business Management degrees, offering you a comprehensive understanding of key business and management principles. All our Business Management programmes share a common first year, where you'll build a strong foundation in core areas such as Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources, while also exploring the wider global business context - covering topics like international economics, politics, and society. Youll also develop essential skills in data analysis and digital decision-making tools, crucial for todays tech-driven business world.

From the second year, you will specialise, tailoring your studies to suit your interests and career aspirations. We place a strong emphasis on the purpose of business, sustainability, and ethics, ensuring youre prepared to lead with integrity in an ever-evolving business landscape.

Practical, career-focused teaching and learning ensures that you can apply the theory youre learning to real-world scenarios that will build your expertise and confidence. We will also get you thinking about sustainability and business ethics so when you begin work or start your own business you can be a force for good in the world.

Work placement year

In an increasingly competitive job market, employers are seeking to recruit employees who have high-level knowledge, skills and an understanding of the workplace. Choosing a work placement year between your second and third year is a fantastic way to gain industry experience. It can provide a valuable insight into what working in a specific area of business is like, and gives you the chance to familiarise yourself with the professional working environment and develop professional networks. A work placement also provides you with the opportunity to apply the theory you have learnt on your degree course.

International year

In between years two and three of your studies you can choose to spend a year or a semester studying abroad. This exciting opportunity enables you to understand your field from different cultural perspectives and to establish international networks.

Entrepreneurship year

Showcase your innovative abilities and ideas to develop your business aspirations. If you have ever wanted to establish your own start-up or have been inspired by your studies this entrepreneurship year is an amazing opportunity to develop your own business idea.

Our Foundation Year provides an excellent alternative route to Keele, providing a unique opportunity to better prepare for your chosen degree, and with guaranteed entry onto your undergraduate course once you successfully complete your Foundation Year.

This extra year of study can improve your academic skills, expand your subject knowledge, give you a better understanding of higher education and, perhaps most importantly of all, build your confidence.

Duration of study: 3 years / 4 years with international, placement or entrepreneurship year
