Offering a variety of options, Northumbria Universitys BA (Hons) Business Management is the most flexible of Newcastle Business Schools undergraduate degrees.
Northumbria University's Business Management course will equip you with the skills, qualities and capabilities valued by employers across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors and that underpin successful enterprise. It means youll complete your studies as a highly employable, culturally and ethically aware graduate with the potential to make positive organisational change.
Youll have the freedom to explore and experiment in a range of different business areas. Broader management modules include marketing, finance strategy, organisational behaviour and HR. And youll also have the opportunity to choose specialist modules that suit your own interests and intended career.
The programmes integrated, cohesive approach will enable you to develop your understanding of global business, and how different business functions operate and complement each other. Through problem-based and experiential learning approaches youll focus on real-world challenges that equip you to resolve complex business problems in sustainable, responsible and transformative ways.
Between Years 2 and 3 we offer the chance to undertake a work placement in the UK or overseas, or to study outside the UK with one of our long-standing partner institutions. So, youll gain crucial real-world experience, preparing you for professional employment or other enterprise-related activity.

At Newcastle Business School were committed to preparing you for your future career and helping you compete in the graduate labour market. So weve designed the BA Business Management programme to support you in developing the key competencies, skills and attitude that graduates need. Developing leadership, enterprise and employability capabilities is at the heart of all module learning experiences and assessment.
We make your personal-professional development and career planning a priority across all years of the programme. Youll develop your knowledge and understanding of the graduate labour market and of current trends in graduate recruitment and selection, applying this to your own career planning.
We offer a number of additional opportunities to enhance your CV, develop your employability or enterprise skills, and increase commercial awareness. These include work placements, overseas travel and study, guest speakers and networking. There are also volunteering programmes both within and outside the University, and representing your programme at Programme or School level.
Many of our students have successfully secured management positions in public and private organisations. Others have established their own businesses or gone on to further study such as our Business and Management MSc course.
