It has a calm environment suitable for learning and studying. It has most of the best facilities with a super functioning library to support academic learning. Well, I don't think there's any suggestions on how to improve because they've got everything basically in place to drive a successful academic experience.

The University of Chester is very spectacular in creating and implementing academic support strategies. It creates a great academic balance for home and international students, it’s a great place to study

My best aspects of experience has to be making friends from different countries. I like the fact that the school is very diverse and also the mode of teaching delivery is good, engaging and interesting. I don’t think I really have experienced anything negative so far.

Pleased and appreciated to study and live in University and Chester. High quality of teaching, experienced tutors, helpful staff, it is a great choice I made to apply.

My academic journey began on Monday 23rd of September, 2019. Feeling confidently optimistic I started what would turn out to be the beginning of a rewarding yet challenging process. Our expert tutors conveyed a sense of calm by repeatedly emphasising just how supported we were. Having relocated from London to Chester, I found it quite easy to adjust. A perfect blend of inexpensive alcohol, great people and a collective sense of self-improvement quickly quelled any lingering doubts or insecurities. I made the decision to join a society, namely the mixed martial arts (MMA) society. I figured a ‘watered down’ student-friendly version of an otherwise brutal and unforgiving discipline would keep me balanced. MMA certainly kept me ‘balanced’. After spending much of my time during the earlier sessions being hurled around, I quickly realised the error in underestimating the intensity of training. There was nothing ‘watered down’ about this society. I was quickly reminded of just how beneficial training the body is to overall mental health and well-being. The course material across my 6 modules was generally quite engaging. I often found myself challenging my own preconceptions in-light of an expertly delivered fact; delivered by one of my expert tutors. I particularly enjoyed our group exercise seminars. I found the competitive nature of these sessions particularly stimulating. One which stood out to me involved creating an advert/presentation for a product created using inexpensive, day to day objects. This session took place on the 29th of November; with the team, I was a part of being responsible for the ‘Tree in a Cup’ campaign. Of course, this summary would not be complete without an honorary mention to the odd late night; or prolonged library stint. A discipline I am yet to master is, without doubt, the ability to start work as soon as I receive it. Although I believe I am somewhat of a productive procrastinator (think cleaning my entire house instead of completing an essay); I feel as though I will achieve so much more if I am able to address this behaviour. Overall, I am happy with my time as a first-year student here at the University of Chester. A perfect blend of meeting great people; setting and achieving personal objectives; and a shared sense of self-improvement.
