Northumbria University is a really good choice for students. It's based in Newcastle upon Tyne, which is a brilliant city, and the university has a solid reputation for helping students get ready for work after they graduate. The courses are designed with input from employers, so you're learning things that actually matter in the real world. The campus is modern and well looked after, with plenty of investment going into making sure students have great places to learn. Whether it's labs, studios, or just spaces to work together, there's everything you need to do well in your studies. One of the best things about Northumbria is how much they care about the student experience. Staff are supportive and genuinely want to help you succeed, and this shows in the satisfaction ratings. The Students' Union is really active too, with loads of clubs, societies, and events that make it easy to meet people and get involved. Newcastle itself is a massive plus. It's affordable compared to other cities, the people are friendly, and there's always something going on whether you're into nightlife, culture, or just exploring. The city has excellent transport links as well, making it easy to get around. If you want a university that combines good teaching with practical skills and a great student life, Northumbria is definitely worth considering. While Northumbria University has many strengths, there are a few areas where it could improve. Some students have mentioned that certain courses feel quite large, particularly in the first year, which can make it harder to get one-on-one time with lecturers. Smaller seminar groups or more tutorial sessions could help students feel more supported, especially when they're settling into university life. The library can get really busy during exam periods, and finding a quiet study space becomes difficult. More study areas or extended opening hours during peak times would make a real difference to students trying to revise or work on assignments. Communication could be better in some departments. Students sometimes find that important information about timetable changes or assessment deadlines doesn't reach them clearly or quickly enough. A more consistent approach to keeping students informed would reduce confusion and stress. While the university has strong links with employers, some students feel that careers support could be more visible and accessible throughout their course, not just in the final year. Earlier and more regular career guidance would help students make the most of opportunities and plan ahead. Finally, some of the older buildings could do with refurbishment to bring them up to the standard of the newer facilities. It creates a bit of an uneven experience when some departments have brilliant resources while others feel a bit dated. These improvements would build on what's already working well and make the student experience even better.

I wouldn’t say that my institution has any bad (worst) aspects or maybe none I’ve come across till now but the best ones for me is the acceptance, diverse culture inclusion, sustainable approach and the faculty which makes the lectures great inside classrooms or when meeting outside.

I’ve enjoyed studying at Northumbria because the campus feels modern and the atmosphere is friendly. Some lecturers genuinely care and explain things well, which makes a huge difference. The library hours, support teams, and the mix of students from different backgrounds also make it a good place to learn. Communication can be slow or confusing, especially around deadlines and admin. A few modules feel rushed, and group work can get frustrating when people don’t pull their weight.
