Financial analysis and general business awareness are at the heart of this joint degree course. The course is designed to allow students to develop an awareness of modern business practice through practical activities which aim to equip students with a holistic understanding of how an organisation functions, with specific emphasis on accounting and financial record keeping.

A practical and practice-based programme, this course will equip students with the agile, reflexive and critical thinking skills which are vital for success in modern organisations. Emphasis will be given to the rapidly evolving financial landscape post-pandemic through both teaching material and real-world examples.

What happens on the course?

Studying with the Business School gives you a head start in your career through offering:

Professional body exemptions - The course provides the opportunity to gain exemptions for Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) which will make you attractive to employers as you will be a significant way towards becoming a fully qualified accountant.

Internships - You can choose to gain valuable work experience through taking an internship (sandwich placement) as part of your programme of study. Full support in preparing and securing internships is provided through our dedicated support team.

Study abroad - You can choose to undertake one semester or a full year study abroad at one of our EU partners, as part of your programme of study.

Working with real managers - We find many opportunities for you to work with practising managers, from company projects, guest lectures and site visits through to short internships or full year long sandwich placements.

Developing real business skills - Studying at Wolverhampton will allow you to develop the skills businesses demand including IT, project management, team working and leadership.

Careers support and guidance - You will be able to gain an Employability Award. Having developed your CV and enhanced your interview skills you will be able to undertake a short internship to prepare yourself to gain employment on graduation.
