This one year top-up course, derived from the three year BA (Hons) Business Administration degree is ideal if you have successfully completed a Business Administration course which is equivalent to the first two years of a relevant UK honours degree, for example, an HND, Foundation Degree or equivalent overseas diploma. The flexibility of this course enables you to strengthen your area of specialisation, or extend the breadth of your knowledge in the main business functions. This is a one year course for students who have successfully completed a relevant HND, Foundation degree or equivalent, the first two years of the BA (Hons) Business Studies degree programme, or a specified course from an overseas partner institution. Three compulsory modules form the foundation of your studies, Business strategy, Contemporary Issues in Business and Personal and Professional Development. A further three optional modules need to be selected from a specified list. The year covers modules in strategy and further personal and professional development work as well as studying contemporary issues affecting business. The programme then allows three option choices from a wide list of options which are continually changing to reflect the world of business. We have a strong business network between local and national businesses which you will benefit from, for example, there is an opportunity to attend guest speaker events, which are organised in conjunction with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CiM). The companies we work with offer internships, placements, live projects and mentors to provide you with excellent practical experience. The School also offers a number of electives and options that provide students with an opportunity to gain an additional professional body qualification.
