This undergraduate training in advanced counselling will equip you to work in a range of therapeutic fields, from private practice to healthcare and the public sector. Over three academic years, you'll develop a strong foundation in a high level of fluency in person-centred theory and gain hands-on skills training within a pluralistic framework, culminating in a BSc (Hons) degree awarded by Middlesex University and accredited by the BACP.

  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of person-centred and pluralistic counselling theories and applications.
  • Learn how to apply evidence-based methods tailored to your client's needs.
  • Train in an ethical, reflective approach to counselling and research practices.
  • Develop creative expression, self-awareness, and reflexivity, via in-depth personal development.
  • Be supported to develop your own congruent idiosyncratic person-centred pluralistic way of working with your clients, including the use of creative therapeutic methods.
  • Understand and identify mental distress and the implications of medication on therapy.
  • Conduct and present case study research.

The programme offers enriching placement experiences, honing your skills in both individual practice and team-based settings. As you progress, particularly in the final year, the curriculum is designed to ensure you graduate with the confidence and competence to establish and grow a successful counselling practice.
