Our pre-registration Children's Nursing Apprenticeship Degree provides the knowledge and skills to work as a Registered Nurse as part of a team in various hospital and primary care settings. These include intensive care, general children's hospital wards, the community, and other specialist areas of child nursing or health.

The course leads to a bachelor's degree (BSc Hons) over either three or four years of study at university and in the workplace. Please note that the 3-year course is full-time throughout the course. The four-year course is full-time in years one and two, part-time in years three and four.

Apprentices can benefit from a wide range of training opportunities and our excellent reputation for delivering health and social care education.

How you will learn

Teaching

Learning takes place through a combination of timetabled learning and independent study.

Seminars and workshops enable you to discuss and develop your understanding of topics covered in lectures in smaller groups. You will also be able to meet your personal tutor. Timetabled learning may fall between 9am and 9pm depending on your courses and tutorials.

Assessment

Each course has formal assessments which count towards your grade. Some courses may also include 'practice' assignments, which help you monitor progress and do not count towards your final grade.
