The BSc (Hons) Accounting Finance Manager (AFM) apprenticeship offers university-based study alongside practical workplace experience to prepare and develop you for your career as an accounting finance manager. You will be employed full time or part time by a business and attend university on a day-release basis.

This course gives you a firm grounding in the principles of accountancy, business finance, auditing and taxation which enables you to manage and implement accounting and finance systems and processes that support decision-making within your organization. This apprenticeship standard aligns with Institute of Financial Accountants at intermediate level. Undertaking specific modules on this programme will allow you to apply for an exemption from ACCA, ICAEW or CIMA if you wish to pursue an alternative future professional membership and additional qualifications.

You will study a mixture of modules focusing on accountancy, finance, taxation, auditing and business information systems that are relevant to your employer and can be applied in your workplace.

You will explore six main topics:
• accounting (financial and management accounting)
• taxation
• operations and strategic management
• finance
• information systems
• auditing.
