On the Biological Sciences (Zoology) degree you will explore theoretical and practical aspects of animal biology and biodiversity including animal behaviour, development, ecology, evolution and animal physiology. You will gain a comprehensive, up-to-date understanding of the approaches and practical experience of the techniques that zoologists use to tackle some of the most important questions in neurobiology, behaviour, ecology and evolution. Your lab work and lectures will be supported by fieldwork, including overseas field courses.This course is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology for the purpose of meeting (in part) the academic and experience requirement for the Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol). Accredited degree programmes contain a solid academic foundation in biological knowledge and key skills, and prepare graduates to address the needs of employers. The accreditation criteria require evidence that graduates from accredited programmes meet defined sets of learning outcomes, including subject knowledge, technical ability and transferable skills.
