Our BSc Biology (Foundation Entry) course will provide you with a sound foundation in basic science, equipping you with the skills and knowledge you need to progress to a full honours degree. Our foundation entry degree courses are ideal if youve got the ability to study for a degree but you dont have the qualifications needed to directly enter the full honours degree programme. Youll benefit from our excellent teaching facilities and approachable staff. Youll have access to specialist research equipment such as electron microscopes and the analytical suite in our JB Firth Building, as well as cell culture, microbiology and molecular biology facilities in our Darwin Building. Biology graduates follow a wide range of careers related to bioscience such as research in the pharmaceutical industries, conservation and endangered species management, or science writing, education, outreach and communication. Science graduates are in demand in many other employment sectors in the UK and overseas including the civil service, business, accounting, sales and marketing. Others have pursued careers in teaching. The transferable skills you gain throughout your degree will help you to excel in a wide range of careers.
