Biochemistry combines the study of the biology and chemistry of living organisms to allow us to understand the molecular basis of life.

Career Prospects?You will be well equipped for a wide variety of careers both inside and outside of science. Many of our graduates work in research laboratories in academic institutions, or in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Around half of our graduates go on to further study. Recent graduates have also secured positions in non-science careers as diverse as accountancy, IT, journalism and government.
