BA Ancient History with Year Abroad

University of Leicester

Welcoming environment, support from both student services and lecturers. Timetabling - having multiple days with only one short class can be difficult when you're a commuter.

The best aspects is the people you meet and the different things you discover in your course which makes studying more interesting and the worst parts may be the lack of clarity for assignments.

Best Aspects: Intellectual Growth: The opportunity to delve deep into subjects I'm passionate about and learn from experts in their fields has been incredibly rewarding. I've grown tremendously as a thinker and researcher. Supportive Community: I've met some amazing people – fellow students, faculty, and staff – who have become close friends and mentors. The sense of community and shared purpose has been invaluable. Research Opportunities: Getting involved in research projects has allowed me to apply my knowledge, develop practical skills, and contribute to new discoveries. It's been a highlight of my time here. Personal Development: University has pushed me outside my comfort zone, forcing me to become more independent, resilient, and resourceful. I've grown as a person as much as I have academically. Worst Aspects: Workload and Pressure: The sheer volume of work and the pressure to succeed can be overwhelming at times, leading to stress and burnout. Financial Strain: The cost of tuition, living expenses, and resources can create a significant financial burden, especially for students from less privileged backgrounds.

Great facilities and the staff are always so helpful whether that be with Uni work or personal issues. The student support thats built in for health issues is really great. The careers network could do with some improving in my opinion as it often feels like all they do is signpost you to other online resources rather than physically helping.

Campus is very good and facilities are also good, one complaint is that the food/ drinks places on campus are quite expensive
