Best aspects: My university experience has been very positive overall. One of the best aspects is the supportive learning environment—lecturers are approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in student success. The course content is well structured and relevant to real-world applications, which has helped me build practical and analytical skills. I also value the diversity of students and the inclusive campus culture, which makes it easy to collaborate, share ideas, and feel a sense of belonging. Access to learning resources such as the library, online platforms, and academic support services has also greatly enhanced my studies. Worst aspects / areas for improvement: While the experience has been rewarding, there are areas that could be improved. At times, some card reader are not updating students attendance and one has to send mail to the attendance unit for manual update .

Overall, my university experience has been positive, particularly in terms of academic quality and the support provided by teaching staff. Many lecturers are knowledgeable, approachable, and willing to help outside of class, which creates a supportive learning environment. The course content is relevant and helps build both theoretical understanding and practical skills. I also appreciate the diversity of the student community, which makes the university experience more enriching and inclusive. However, there are areas that could be improved. Communication regarding timetables, attendance records, and class cancellations could be clearer and more consistent, as this sometimes causes unnecessary confusion for students. Additionally, administrative processes can feel slow, and quicker responses would greatly improve the overall student experience. More academic support sessions and better coordination between departments would also be beneficial. Overall, the university is a good place to study, but improving communication, organisation, and administrative efficiency would make the experience even better for students.

It's a nice university for international students, they do a good job of supporting us. However, they've made some bad investments recently (£70M for an empty bldg!) and have been making poor cost cutting measures, notably staff reduction cuts and charging fir the buses. The worst part is they refuse to admit it and keep trying to gaslight us...especially the emails the Vice-Chancellor keeps sending us. Pure propaganda nonsense...be brave and admit your mistakes...

One lecturer did not respond to my emails and text messages and calls, and I subsequently failed that course as a result of his inability to respond when i needed him. Lecturers should be encouraged to always respond as quickly as they can. They will be saving students from lots of trouble. I'm having to spend over £7000 extra to come back and retake this course from my home country. It's painful. Thank you.

I have had a fantastic experience at Derby University! The quality of the courses is excellent; the teaching staff are knowledgeable and supportive, fostering a great learning environment. Additionally, the student services are top-notch. They offer extensive support, from academic guidance to mental health resources, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported. Overall, Derby University provides a vibrant community and a solid foundation for personal and academic growth. Highly recommended!
