About the course

Art has the power to challenge society today. This course is for you if you’re curious to explore the cultural, political, social and economic significance of art.From philosophy to psychology and modern languages, you take electives from other subjects to open your mind to other disciplines and tailor your degree to your interests. During your degree, you can choose to:- discover art’s relationship with feminism, queer studies, empire and postcolonialism, criticism and the media- join the Art Society to share your interest in art, collaborate and be inspired- apply for a placement year to gain work experience.Just outside Brighton and close to London, the University is brilliantly located for the arts. Our facilities include The Keep and the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts. You’ll benefit from our connections with a wide range of museums, galleries and collections. Our research informs exhibitions at museums and galleries such as:- Tate- the Metropolitan Museum of Art- the Science Museum.When you graduate, you’ll have the analytic and practical skills needed for work in the cultural, creative and academic sectors. You’ll be prepared for a range of careers in fields including writing, teaching, management and marketing.
