University of Reading

The university has a range of resources that students can use when in need of help. The buildings around across campus are all more or less close together making for a better commute. There is also a bus stop on campus which makes it easy to get into town. The university is doing its part in ensuring they are being as eco-friendly as possible which is very good.

The campus and accommodation feels very homely and the lecturers are all passionate about their work. Organization of more interactive applied oppurtunities could be done to improve the quality of education.

campus has a great feel to it with plenty of amenities with in walking distance, such as bars, shops and cafes. I feel as though there has been loads of social events planned by the university whereby i have met the majority of my friends from, in particular there’s a society for everyone! however the night life probably could be improved a bit more, the university hold many events in the union but the only night that still tends to be the most popular is just a wednesday so i believe more work is needed into other nights

Pros: The Whiteknights campus is very green and beautiful, the best I've seen regarding this theme. There are lots of facilities such as a big library, cafés, gym, sport pitches (football, tennis, rugby, etc). Many societies about different topics and hobbies to socialize with people who share your interests. This uni has made a noticeable effort against discrimination, open to everyone no matter sex, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc. Cons: Obviously not the majority, but I've come across with some lecturers that seem to not put too much effort on their classes (lectures consisting in reading slides). Sometimes it doesn't feel worth to attend a lecture but study the content by yourself. Student support is OK, could be better. I've used it and they tend to answer in around 1 day, however sometimes it can take considerably longer and that ends up in nothing clear.

My course is not as good as I expected, a lot of yhe lectures seem irrelevant or not detailed enough, whereas others are dull and too heavy with unnecessary detail
