Course overview In this course you undertake your own Archaeology research project at Birmingham and join an active department and research community conducting work across the globe. On our Archaeology PhD or MA by Research, you’ll get access to our broad range of expertise and facilities, enhancing your graduate prospects in the industry and related areas. Course highlights Join us at Birmingham to further your study and exploration of the past, and to help shape the future of archaeological research. Study around your current commitments. Delve deeper into your chosen area of research with the support of our vibrant Department. Broaden your skills through appropriate training and gain experience in teaching – we offer opportunities where possible to build these skills. Conduct your PhD research from anywhere in the world through our online distance learning option.
You will need to hold a Masters qualification at Merit level or above (or its international equivalent), usually in a relevant area. Any academic and professional qualifications or relevant professional experience you have will normally be taken into account and, in some cases, may form an integral part of the entrance requirements. If you are applying for a distance learning research programme, you will also need to demonstrate that you have the time, commitment, facilities, and experience necessary to study by distance learning.
