Explore mechanical principles that underpin human movement to improve performance and understand injury mechanisms in sport and exercise with our hands-on biomechanics masters. You will develop in-depth knowledge and practical skills such as- coordination and movement variability, three-dimensional modelling (e.g. Visual 3D, OpenSim, FreeBody), laboratory testing (e.g. Vicon motion capture system, Cybex dynamometers, Delsys electromyography, Kistler force platforms), field-based assessments (e.g. XSens and Blue Trident IMUs, Theia Markerless motion capture and Catapult GPS),With our online biomechanics masters, you will develop essential transferrable skills, such as strategy, communication, and attention to detail. You could establish a career within- the testing and monitoring of athletes and sports teams, technology development, research.
Students need to have a 2:2 degree (or equivalent) in sport science, exercise science, strength and conditioning science, physical education, sport rehabilitation, physiotherapy or a related field. Students will be considered with other appropriate qualifications or experience that is deemed equivalent. Applicants should normally be able to demonstrate a background in research methods or a related discipline.
