About Postgraduate Professional Development (PPD)_x000D_ Postgraduate Professional Development (PPD) is aimed at working professionals who want to advance their knowledge through a postgraduate-level course, without the time or financial commitment of a full masters, diploma or certificate qualification. PPD courses can help to support career progression and upskilling if you are already working within the poultry industry._x000D_ These courses offer a unique, research-led opportunity to study the different aspects of applied poultry science and aim to equip current and future professionals with the skills, knowledge and understanding to address local and global challenges in sustainable poultry production. They are designed to suit students in continuing employment who wish to develop their careers and businesses._x000D_ Students typically come from a wide range of backgrounds, including:_x000D_ nutritionists_x000D_ breeders_x000D_ vets_x000D_ other poultry sector workers_x000D_ How will I learn?_x000D_ Our part-time, online teaching provides a fully flexible mix of technical, scientific, nutritional, and environmental and management-skills development modules. You can fit your studies in and around your work and other commitments. Courses are delivered largely by poultry specialists from Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC), and St David’s Poultry Team (veterinary surgeons).
A UK 2:1 honours degree, or its international equivalent, in agriculture, veterinary science or a biological science.
