This stand-alone advanced professional development course offered by the University of Bolton aims to build on your pre-existing knowledge of adult care home nursing practice. Our dedicated team will support you in developing an in-depth knowledge of long-term conditions associated with ageing, managing complex multiple morbidities, frailty and end-of-life care. You'll explore the concepts of advanced communication, autonomous working, holistic assessment and leadership and management so you can develop competencies and skills that are highly valued in the care sector. We'll guide you as you build your knowledge and application of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) fundamental standards for care. We'll encourage you to build skills in negotiating, coaching, teaching and supporting people and their carers, and help you learn how to collaborate effectively with other agencies and services to enable residents to remain safely in their usual place of care. We'll also support you in gaining a sound working knowledge of the legislation and policy that underpins care home nursing practice.
