This stand-alone course is for health and social care professionals with a specialist interest in frailty. It's beneficial to work in a relevant area of practice while studying this course, as it helps you transfer your knowledge of theory and apply it in practice. The module aims to deepen your understanding of frailty's physical and psychological impact on a person's health and wellbeing. We'll guide you to explore and evaluate evidence-based methods for detecting frailty and encourage you to consider appropriate theoretical principles as part of your decision-making process. Examining the theories surrounding frailty can help you understand the causes of frailty and the long-term impact frailty has on health and social care outcomes. We'll also support you in developing skills in frailty assessment and care planning for individuals living with frailty.
You must have an appropriate health and social care-related qualification (e.g. registered nurse, assistant practitioner, allied health professional, or paramedic).
