COURSE OVERVIEW
Designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of the future advanced practitioner, this contemporary and dynamic programme continuously responds to the changes in healthcare theory and practice. This course is a part time programme open to practitioners registered with the NMC, HCPC or GPhC and working in primary / community care settings looking to advance their level of practice.
Mapped against the four pillars of advanced practice, throughout the programme you will be provided with the opportunity to put theory into practice. At the point of completion, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of research methods, research ethics, and governance to critically analyse, safely use, share, and apply research findings to promote and inform best practice.
You will be taught by academic, and where applicable practice staff, who bring the latest pedagogic and practice research findings into the classroom, practice suites, and practice learning environment, providing you with a set of skills and opportunities that will allow you to develop and deliver safe and effective care to a diverse range of people.

YOUR ADVANCED CLINICAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE
The MSc programme adopts a blended learning approach with a mixture of online learning and classroom-based learning at our St David’s Park campus in Carmarthen, with plenty of access to our state-of-the-art facilities at Singleton Park.
You will benefit from a range of learning opportunities including, case-based and problem-based learning, Simulation-based learning, technology-enhanced learning, and independent guided learning. The programme recruits registrants from various professional backgrounds which helps support and develop the rich inter-professional learning that is fostered throughout the three years of study.
The Applied Clinical Practice programme provides you with a variety of opportunities to advance your own clinical practice. The course provides opportunities for you to explore other realms of health care and delivery outside of your current health care role.
Registered health care professional with either NMC, HCPC or GPhC; 3 years post registration experience; Employed and working within primary care setting; Undergraduate degree – 2(ii) or evidence of degree level study such as a level 6 or 7 module which has a written assignment component; Identified practice assessor.
