This programme is for experienced practitioners, such as nurses, pharmacists, radiographers, audiologists, cardiac physiologists, ambulance staff and midwives, who have clinical practice access with patient management responsibilities. It’s designed to support the development of experienced, registered health and care practitioners to a level of practice characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making. This master’s level award encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice: Clinical practice. Leadership and management. Education. Research. Advanced Clinical Practice embodies the ability to manage clinical care in partnership with individuals, families and carers. It includes the analysis and synthesis of complex problems across a range of settings, enabling innovative solutions to enhance people’s healthcare experience and improve outcomes. Practitioners will also be able to demonstrate core capabilities and area specific clinical competence. The aim of this programme is to provide healthcare practitioners with the knowledge and skills for advanced clinical practice that will enable them to function competently in: Providing effective healthcare. Improving the quality and health outcomes. Evaluation and research. Leading and developing practice. Developing self and others. Working across professional and organisational boundaries. Innovation and changing practice. The School of Healthcare is one of the largest multi-professional health schools in the country. Applicants must: Be a currently practising registered healthcare practitioner. Hold a degree in a health-related discipline Normally this will be an Honours degree at 2:1 classification or above However individual consideration will be given to suitable applicants who do not have an Honours degree or who do not have a 2:1 classification). Be in employment as a trainee advanced clinical practitioner or be in a role in which the programme outcomes can be achieved (please contact the programme leader for advice) Have a satisfactory application and interview.
