The Accounting with French programme integrates French-language modules taught by the School of Arts, English and Languages.Accounting focusses on the communication of economic information, often referred to as the language of business. Accounting information is critical for both internal decision-making and providing information about the position and performance of the organisation to external stakeholders.This degree prepares students for a career in the accountancy profession, and as such contains considerable practical content and engagement with local employers. Key content areas include Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, Taxation and Finance, with increasing specialisation in Accounting Technologies, Ethics and Sustainability Reporting – matching developments in the accountancy profession.Accounting with French has an integral placement year in a country where the language studied is the dominant tongue, which is often transformational for students’ language and employability skills. This degree also embeds a range of skills expected of a future accounting professional, including critical thinking, communication, ethical decision-making, leadership and team work.
