Overview

Accounting Technicians are qualified accounting professionals who work at all levels of finance. They can work in all types of organisations and are widely employed throughout the public sector, industry, and commerce and in private accounting practices.

This is a one-year Level 5 Diploma programme (which itself is the follow on from completing the Level 4 Certificate).

Please note that the Certificate and Diploma as outlined above can be gained by completing and passing the above-mentioned courses. If a student wishes to become a full member of ATI they must also have complete 2 years (3,360 hours) of relevant work experience which can be completed before, during, or after study.

Syllabus

This accounting diploma is awarded on successful completing of the 4 modules listed below over one year. This combination of subjects is specifically designed to provide students with a solid grounding in business as well as a strong foundation in accountancy.

Careers

Many who qualify as Accounting Technicians go on to continue their studies, using their qualification as a stepping stone to eventually becoming professional accountants and members of one of the other accounting bodies, opening them up to greater opportunities for careers in accountancy.

Tuition for all subjects will be offered (subject to minimum enrolment numbers) as part time day release and evening classes attending weekly from September to May.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment of the ATI Diploma is by external exams arranged by students directly with ATI. There are 4 exams, one for each subject. Alongside this there is a Work Practice module consisting of 2 work-based tasks to be completed within a workplace environment. BMC offer a linear programme of study and prepare students for the May exam sitting each year.
