An alternative route to University or Higher Education for students aged 19+ who have been out of education for at least a year, Access to Higher Education Diploma - Midwifery is designed to give adult students who may have left school early or have been out of education for a number of years the opportunity to develop academic skills, confidence and knowledge before applying to university. This course requires a minimum of 90% attendance and the successful completion of 45 Level 3 credits and 15 Level 2/3 credits.
This is an intensive course of study and will require a high level of commitment from the student, including several hours of self study in your own time. Daytime study will be approximately 12 hours delivered over two days a week in college: currently Monday and Tuesday.
The Access to HE Diplomas at Kingston College are nationally recognised qualifications and are awarded by The Open College Network London Region (OCNLR).
Progression Next Steps
Students who successfully achieve the Access Diploma are then eligible to apply for a degree in Midwifery.

All students are expected to have English Language GCSE grade-C/4 OR the equivalent (not functional skills level-2) before partaking on the course. If you do not have GCSE Maths at grade C/4 you may be given the opportunity to study this alongside your Access programme to achieve a grade 4 or above. Given Grades may vary based on the equivalency of your specific qualifications. This course is not available to students who require a visa to study in the UK. Students who have qualifications from abroad and need a recognised English language qualification can take an IELTS test. International students need to have IELTS or other English language test scores, It may vary based on the course-specific requirements.
