The Access to Higher Education Diploma - Media Studies is designed for adults (19+) who have been out of full time education for some time and are aiming to join university or higher education courses. The course is modular and therefore flexible enough to fit around your work and/or family commitments. Day time study is spread over two days and is approximately 12.5 hours of study per week.
The media route of the Access course will be a mixture of academic and practical content. Students will work on still photography and video production, producing a range of artefacts, including documentary and single camera drama. In addition, this work will be fully contextualised by relevant media and cultural theory.
Progression
Students can progress directly on to our own Foundation Degree in Media Skills or progress on to a wide range of courses in moving image, journalism, advertising, film and PR.

C Grades / Points required
Students are required to have GCSE English Language at grade C/4 or above or English Functional Skills Level 2. If you do not have GCSE Maths at grade C/4 you may be given the opportunity to study this subject alongside your Access Diploma. Given Grades may vary based on the equivalency of your specific qualifications. International students need to have IELTS or other English language test scores, It may vary based on the course-specific requirements.
