An alternative route to University or Higher Education for students aged 19+ who may have left school early or have been out of education for at least a year, Access to HE Diploma - Business Studies is designed to give adult students who may have left school early or have been out of education for a number of years the opportunity to develop academic skills, confidence and knowledge before applying to university. This course requires a minimum of 90% attendance and the successful completion of 45 Level 3 credits and 15 Level 2/3 credits.

This is an intensive course of study and requires a high level of commitment, including several hours of self study in the student's own time. Day time study is approximately 12 hours delivered over three days a week in college: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during academic year 2023-2024.

The Access to HE Diplomas at Kingston College are nationally recognised qualifications and are awarded by The Open College Network London Region (OCNLR).

The Access to Higher Education Diploma - Business is made up of a core support programme of Business Studies. The remainder of the programme is comprised of Maths and Study Skills, which are designed to provide all students with essential skills for undergraduate study, for example note-taking, research and presentation skills.

This course requires excellent time management, maturity of approach and a high level of commitment throughout the year. Students will be supported in their studies and UCAS application through a weekly tutorial session.

Progression Next Steps

Learners will be able to progress onto a wide range of Business Higher Education courses including those offered at Kingston College: Foundation Degree (FdA) Business, HND Business, L5 Certificate in Human Resource Management and L6 Diploma in Law and Practice.
