What students say about youth-work

UWE Bristol offers a welcoming environment for international students, with strong support services, diverse communities, and practical, industry‑focused teaching that suits an International Business degree well. The city of Bristol adds to the appeal with its multicultural vibe and active business scene. However, the experience isn’t perfect—Bristol’s cost of living is high, the main Frenchay campus is far from the city centre, and transport can feel slow or crowded. As a large university, some students also find that administrative processes and personalised academic support can take time, but overall the environment is vibrant and opportunity‑rich.

What students say about youth-work

Leeds Beckett is situated in a great location. Firstly city campus is situated around 10-15 minutes walk from the city centre meaning if you are in first year student halls this is very convenient as many of them are right in the city. Furthermore if you are at Headingley campus you able to hop on the free shuttle to the city centre or if your living in the Carnegie halls, then this is right on your doorstep. Otherwise you are 10 minutes walk from Headingley centre and around 20-25 minutes from Hyde Park which is where many 2nd year and 3rd year students live in student houses. Leeds Beckett has a variety of courses and a great selection of staff on each course, meaning you interact with different lecturers and leaders. Moreover, the societies and student events mean socialising is encouraged and can lead you to make unforgettable memories and lifelong friends. I would say this is probably the best uni for someone to attend due to the close knit community that is created by Leeds Beckett and its location as it is an easy city to find your way round and it very quickly becomes a home away from home that you will be sad to leave.

What students say about youth-work

My university experience has been very positive overall. The teaching staff are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely supportive, which makes a big difference academically and personally. The course content is engaging and relevant, with a good balance between theory and practical application. I’ve also really valued the sense of community — there are plenty of societies, events, and opportunities to meet people from diverse backgrounds, making it a welcoming and inclusive place to study. The campus facilities and resources, particularly the library and online learning platforms, have been extremely helpful.

What students say about youth-work

One of the best parts of my university experience has been the supportive learning environment. The lecturers are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in student success. The course content is well structured and relevant to real-world applications, which has helped me build practical skills alongside academic knowledge. Access to online learning resources and flexible study options has also made it easier to balance studies with other commitments. Overall, the university provides a diverse and inclusive community that makes it a great place to learn and grow. Some modules could benefit from quicker feedback on assignments, as timely feedback is important for improvement. Additionally, increasing opportunities for hands-on projects, industry engagement, and career guidance would further enhance the student experience.

A nice and quiet environment conducive to focusing on academic goals, with a range of supportive structures. It could do with stronger communication across multiple platforms and better marketing of the very helpful opportunities available at the different facilities.
