What students say about veterinary-medicine

Good, high quality level of teaching. Lecturers have an abundance of experience in a range of roles in the wine industry. Lots of contacts of people in the trade. Student life on campus is quite detached from anything - if you don't have a car there is not a lot you can do.

Lovely countryside quiet environment. Each subject has its own part on campus which makes it easy to find. Bus fares could be improved as I am a university student living at home and it costs me £30 a week to commute as I also need to catch a public bus.

What students say about veterinary-medicine

One of the best aspects of studying at Wrexham University is the supportive learning environment. Academic staff are approachable, encouraging, and always willing to give guidance, whether it’s about assignments, understanding complex topics, or planning for future career goals. The university creates a friendly atmosphere where students feel valued and confident to ask for help. I also appreciate the diverse student community. Meeting people from different cultural and professional backgrounds has broadened my perspectives and helped me develop stronger teamwork and communication skills. The university’s flexible teaching methods and practical learning activities make the course engaging and closely connected to real-world situations. Additionally, the student services, including library support, career guidance, and wellbeing resources, are very helpful. They make it easier to balance studies, personal life, and future career planning. --- Areas for Improvement Although my experience has been positive overall, there are a few areas that could be improved. At times, communication about timetable changes or online session links could be clearer and more consistent, especially for part-time and international students who rely heavily on emails and the student portal. Some facilities, such as study spaces and digital resources, could also be expanded to accommodate busy periods during assignment deadlines. Improving these would make learning even smoother for students. --- Overall Wrexham University offers a welcoming, supportive, and practical learning experience. With a few improvements in communication and facilities, it could become even better for future students.

What students say about veterinary-medicine

Couldn’t be happier to have picked SRUC for veterinary nursing! It’s very practical based and really hands on which I love a lot. The lecturers are lovely and in our online (for now) lectures they make sure to try and keep us engaged and give us breaks as they know online learning can be a bit difficult and most of all they try to make it fun! If you’re looking to do veterinary nursing in Scotland I’d definitely recommend SRUC - you might be a bit hesitant at first since it’s out in the countryside and not a city but it’s definitely worth it for the practical learning than you receive on farm etc.

The staff and students around the campus are always so welcoming and friendly. It really makes me enjoy where I’m studying. I think something that could be improved is the university’s response to student based issues.

I find my university a great place to study because they have so much systems in place to help and support students through university life. So far I can’t find any fault because I have access to so much learning materials and support with wellbeing.

What students say about veterinary-medicine

As an International student here in United kingdom, I admit that got the best facilities, location and even timely support by the staff. But to be honest I think there's 1 aspect which Newcastle can improve a bit, which is supporting it's students for part -time jobs here in United kingdom, as I think most of the International students here in United kingdom come from different cultures, atmosphere, etc. So I think there can be bit more focus on support new students Thank you, I love this university and it will always have a special place in my heart ❤️

What students say about veterinary-medicine

I have felt extremely supported throughout my experience so far. The teachers are lovely and approachable individuals who have first hand knowledge and years of experience in my subject. We have been given practical sessions to prepare us for going out into placements and the timetable makes balancing university and our outside life extremely manageable. The teachers are all very understanding and supportive of parents studying on the course and the university even have a breastfeeding room to support mothers which is fantastic. There are numerous clubs and activities going on each day so there are plenty of opportunities to learn a new skill, keep fit, and make friends. Providing a coach to attend lessons at Stone X stadium is also highly beneficial and convenient for us students that have to go there regularly. On the other hand, I will say improvements can be made in their application and interview process as it felt slightly unorganised and I had to message them a few times to keep updated on my application status. It would be much better if they actually sent communications to us applicants to inform us if we have an interview or have been accepted into the university as I often felt forgotten about during this process and it seemed as though they would only ever progress my application once I messaged them. Fortunately, now that I have been accepted, they keep me very regularly updated on what is going on in the university.
