Studying theoretical physics

In theoretical physics, you’ll use mathematical models and abstractions to rationalise and predict the world around us. To study this, you’ll need a strong understanding of mathematics and a curiosity about the world around you. You’ll likely study models on quantum and classical physics as a part of your degree, which typically lasts for three years. After you’ve finished your undergraduate degree, you could go on to study a postgraduate qualification which is a popular choice. You could also go on to careers in areas including scientific publishing, scientific research, teaching, science or engineering in the tech field or medical physics among others.
