As an international student, one of the most rewarding aspects of my university experience has been the supportive and student-friendly environment. Adjusting to a new country and education system can be challenging, but the university’s approachable faculty, student services, and peer support made the transition much smoother. The staff are always willing to help, and there are numerous resources available to assist with academic, personal, and cultural adaptation. The university’s inclusivity is another key strength. It celebrates diversity and provides a space where everyone feels respected and valued, regardless of their background or nationality. This inclusive atmosphere has helped me build meaningful connections and collaborate with people from all over the world, enriching my learning and broadening my perspective. Furthermore, the welcoming and accessible environment has made a huge difference. From orientation events to student societies, there are constant efforts to make international students feel at home. The campus facilities, online learning tools, and support services are highly accessible, ensuring that all students can participate fully in academic and social activities. If I can point out something that can be improved is Food. It’s funny how something as simple as food can make such a big difference in how “at home” you feel in a new country. Encouraging more international food options on campus or hosting cultural food events could make a meaningful (and delicious!) improvement to student life.

Best aspects: The best part of my experience studying Business and Economics at NTU has been the practical focus of the course. Many modules include real-world case studies and applied learning, which helps make the theory more relevant to real business situations. The lecturers are generally supportive and approachable, and there are good opportunities to develop employability skills through presentations, group projects, and career support. The campus facilities and study spaces are also very good, which makes it easier to work and collaborate with others. Worst aspects: One of the more challenging aspects has been the amount of group work, which can sometimes feel unfair when contributions between members are unequal. At times communication around assignments or deadlines could be clearer. Additionally, while the course content is useful, some modules can feel quite theoretical and less directly connected to current industry practices.

The lectures in my course are very helpful and always get back to you when you have questions. We have good weeks timetabling where we have online lessons and in person and we start at a nice time as well which gives people time to travel. Our lectures give us PowerPoints which we can also look at when at home for more revision. The university is big and is a couple bus stops from train stations which is helpful as well. There is lots of places to get food and they have a wide variety of things.

Studying at Birmingham Newman University has been a really positive experience overall. One of the best aspects is the strong sense of community — it’s a smaller university, which makes it feel more supportive and personal. Lecturers are approachable and genuinely invested in students’ progress, and it’s much easier to build relationships with both staff and classmates compared to larger universities. Another highlight is the campus environment. It’s compact and easy to navigate, with a friendly atmosphere that helps you feel comfortable quickly. The focus on student wellbeing and support services is also a big plus, especially during busy or stressful periods. That said, there are areas that could be improved. Because it’s a smaller university, facilities and resources can feel a bit limited compared to bigger institutions. There could also be more variety in extracurricular activities and societies to give students a wider university experience. Overall, it’s a great place to study if you value a close-knit, supportive environment, but expanding resources and opportunities would make the experience even better.

Limited amount of shops in Lincoln, which makes it get a bit stale quick, but is still a lovely city with plenty of things to do. Another downside is the fact it is in the middle of nowhere, you have to get trains or coaches if you want to go anywhere else. However, it does have everything you need as a student, with a good night out as well

Best- student support. The dance teach is amazing, whenever ive had any issue they've sorted it out so quickly. They're so supportive with internal and external commitments. Just a generally lovely group of lecterers Worst- campus. CHI Uni doesn't really have a campus life. I live (at home) near Essex uni and I love going to sit by the lake and have picnics in the fields. I remember going for walks around the woodland when I was little. And chichester we dont have that, just a sports field. I think a better campus would make a.loy of difference

Worst is library computers, they have to include usbc for computer extension. I like the organisation I wish they had more international student support considering we’re paying 3x more for the same thing

Older campus tucked out of the way but super friendly and chill vibes all round. Especially the Octagon in the middle of campus, the two chaplains in there are absolutely wonderful and friendly people, and they have 2 dogs to cuddle if you need a furry friend lectures are more interactive with you as a student because of the smaller class sizes so they get to know you as an individual, and student support are great! The only negative I have is there are a lot of potholes and the elevators are often breaking. Overall, pretty good!!
