Best uni experience, is the nights out and events, all the different cuisines in the Hive and experiencing being in each building for different lectures. Worst experience has been the students not taking care of themselves on nights out and ruining it for other people

The uni is great, the staff are kind and helpful. Because it’s in the city, I have issues with transport and parking, it would be great if they had a free facility for staff and students only. I think they are lacking in the amount of social activities, I wouldn’t say it’s a party university. Apart from that, there’s lots of great study spaces and the technical team are great and very knowledgeable.

My experience at the university has been very positive. The lecturers are supportive and helpful, and the learning environment is friendly and welcoming. What truly sets the University of Derby apart for me is its 'hands-on first' philosophy. It’s not just about sitting in a lecture hall; it’s about actually doing the job before you even graduate. As a national leader in employability ranking 2nd in the UK this year. The university has invested in us with incredible facilities. Walking into our new £75 million Zero-Carbon Business School or practicing in the mock Crown Court and NHS wards makes the transition to a career feel seamless. Having partners like Rolls-Royce involved in our learning means we aren't just getting a degree; we’re getting a head start. Beyond the classroom, I’ve found the support here to be incredibly personal. With NSS scores consistently above 85%, you really feel like the staff know your name and care about your progress. Plus, living in award-winning accommodation has made settling into university life much easier than I expected. Of course, there is always room to improve. To really reach the "next level," I'd love to see: Better Connections: Stronger physical and social links to make the walk between Kedleston Road and the City campuses feel more integrated. Global Reach: Continuing to push our research reputation so our degrees carry even more weight internationally. Smoother Admin: A more streamlined approach to timetabling and digital communication. Inclusive Socializing: More diverse, non-alcohol-based spaces that reflect our entire student community.

Loughborough is very accessible and has lots to offer solely on the campus, luckily it’s only a short walk into town for more as well! I do think some sort of student bus card for the sprint bus when going into town would be great as a trip is £3.

- there are plenty of activities and events - clear signposting and communication from the SU butt..... - would be great to see food options on campus catering to different needs. i.e. gluten free

Good sporting Uni/College campus. With plenty of opportunities as a college undergrad to partake in university activities. However building in the college is outdated, thankfully a new building should be in place by September 2025

The best aspects are the staff - they're all lovely and very approachable. They respond as quickly as possible and with genuine care. The buildings and resources are all really good and I love the campuses. The worst aspects would probably be the distance between the buildings and having to travel from one campus to another at certain times or moving from one side of the campus to the complete opposite side with 5 minutes to spare.
