Lots of timetabled lessons and contact time with lectures so you definitely get your moneys worth. Lecturers are really nice and helpful as well. Not a lot outside of lessons/lectures happens on the Falmouth campus, most of the SU stuff is in Penryn but there are plenty of societies and lots of nightlife in Falmouth town. The facilities are great and readily available.

For what Bournemouth lacks in name it makes up for it with the great student support and environment of the university. Every staff member and facilities are easy to access or talk to. The career hub is super useful and honestly a massive positive, not to mention the very efficient medical center and student union finance support team for students. The bursaries are generous in my opinion and I honestly could not have made it otherwise. The pastoral care is unmatched in my opinion. Safety on campus is great. the student union always has stuff going on, ALWAYS, like a bread and bakery stall on some mornings, lots of international events too, being from France it made me feel quite at home at time. The teaching isn't awful, not the best either, maybe it's my course, but the option and units are interesting. The university reputation is average at best, but like I said they make up for it in other ways. The area is nice, it's a student town, with the beach, I personally like it, and the transport system is very very reliable and efficient.

trong clinical placements UWE has solid links with NHS Trusts across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Somerset. You usually get a wide variety of placements (acute wards, community, mental health, GP, etc.), which really helps you figure out what kind of nurse you want to be. Early and frequent hands-on experience You’re in placement pretty early compared to some unis. It’s intense, but by the time you qualify you’re usually confident with core skills and real-world nursing pressures. Supportive lecturers (mostly) Many of the nursing lecturers are ex-nurses or still clinically active, so their teaching is practical, realistic, and very “this is what it’s actually like on a ward.” Good facilities The Glenside Campus has decent simulation labs and skills rooms. Practising scenarios before placement genuinely helps with confidence. Overall, the course fosters professional growth, resilience, and compassion, and supports students in becoming safe, skilled, and confident nurses ready to make a positive impact in healthcare.

Love how approachable my lectures are, love the ease of accessing campus and how many resources we have. The library can get extremely busy and load during exam periods though and this can be frustrating. my experience of the writing cafe has been not amazing - lots of conflicting ideas about what should go in an essay and what shouldn't, I don't doubt this is due to differences on courses, but to improve maybe there could be people there representing healthcare courses rather than just generic.
