Studying sculpture

As a student on a sculpture course, you’ll be considering the social, historical and material contexts around sculptures as well as thinking about the position of sculpture within the world of art and how this is evolving over time. You’ll study both classical and contemporary sculpture and consider how the art form has changed, and how this reflects different elements of society. You could go on to study a fine art postgraduate degree or go straight into working. Common career paths include becoming a teacher, artist, curator or marketer.
