Best part of the uni is it's facilities like the David Wilson Library and sports centers, student union , career hub etc. Accommodation is decent, with options in the city and The Village, though the latter is farther from campus. On the downside, some buildings feel outdated, Wi-Fi can be patchy, and travel from The Village to campus can be inconvenient. Overall, it’s supportive with room for improvement.

University of Derby is a great place to study as there is so much support provided by each member of staff, they are always happy to help you! I do think there should be some more staff so that lecture groups are smaller as this can be quite overwhelming for people with needs such as autism and anxiety etc… The University itself is placed in such a great area, it’s close by to the city centre meaning there is so much to do and plenty of places to socialise! The university have accommodation close by too and also have a university bus for students who need to travel to university right from the local train station, past the university accommodations right to the university door step which is so handy, it’s also free which is great for those who don’t have much money, all you need is your student ID! The university provide an employment seekers hub where students can go to improve there CV or look for work, the staff at the hub provide emails to all the students each week with job opportunities which is fantastic for those looking for some work whilst studying at university. University is a great way to make new friends and socialise with people, the campus itself also has a wide variety of places to socialise, such as food stalls, library or seating areas. There is also a gym available to use which is discounted for the students, as well as sports clubs where you can also socialise and make friends whilst doing some exercise, it’s great! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone considering university, it’s like living a dream! and if your worried about accommodation, don’t! there is plenty of university accommodations to stay in, private or university owned, where you may make even more friends! it’s definitely a lifetime experience you do not want to miss out on.

I am currently studying MSc International Business Management at De Montfort University, Leicester, and I am really enjoying my experience. DMU uses a block teaching method, and they are pioneers in this approach. I find it very effective because it allows me to focus on one module at a time for better understanding. The course is highly relevant to my future goals, and the teaching style is engaging and interactive — with weekly lectures, seminars, and workshops that make learning more practical and enjoyable. The only downside is that the workload can feel intense during each block, since all assessments come close together. However, this also helps build time management and focus, which are valuable skills for the future.

Lincoln is a lovely city, and the University is right next door to the heart of it. The University itself is nice, everyone seems friendly, the facilities are good, and the staff are cool. The only thing which I personally don’t like about the University is that it’s all modern, and I prefer the more traditional feel. The city itself is very historic, but I feel that is not reflected in the University. However, overall the University is nice and an enjoyable place to study. It’s a happy place and that’s what really matters in my opinion!
