The location of the campus i’m on is a bit out of the way and can be difficult to get to at times the support given to students is amazing i feel so supported and I know who to speak to when needed the student union is good they make sure there’s involvement for everyone and activities for everyone student life is good your close to the shopping mall and close by to lots of things to do the campus looks clean and tidy and feels nice to spend time here

The best aspects are the student union and the facilities available. I think it could be improved if we had more books generally available at the library without requiring click and collect, since right now the library feels like a study space but not a real library.

Studying at Birmingham City University in the Curzon building is great because of the modern facilities, comfortable study spaces, and central location, which makes everything convenient. It could be improved by adding more quiet study areas during busy times and better communication about timetable updates.

There have been difficulties with communication from certain faculties to the students, but there have also been some lecturers who have been extremely supportive who have helped me with both educational and mental issues I have had, especially in the third year.

This is an amazing place to study, support is out of this world!!! the student life is incredible, the uni bar is well priced and has many incredible activities during the week. I have never felt so supported with my education. the uni also offers great mental health support and ample living situations.

I’m a mature student doing the BMus Music part-time at Goldsmiths. I’ve just come to the end of the full-time first year (which has taken me two years). Headline is I’d really recommend this course – it was definitely a good decision to apply. Over the first year I’ve done 5 year-long modules and coming to the end I reckon they have given me a really solid foundation as a musician in terms of my ability to play, write, analyse and think about music.

The best part of my university experience has been meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures, which improved my communication skills and confidence. I also enjoyed learning practical knowledge related to my course that will help me in my future career. Worst aspect: The most challenging part was managing time between assignments, exams, and part-time work. Sometimes it was stressful, but it helped me become more organised and responsible. If you want, I can also make it more professional or more personal for a specific form.

My course is taught by passionate lecturers who make the subject feel relevant and engaging, and I’ve appreciated how approachable most staff are when I need help. There are also plenty of extracurricular activities and societies, which made it easy to meet people with similar interests. The campus facilities—like the library, study spaces, and wellbeing services—have also been a big part of what makes it a great place to study. In terms of what could be improved, there are a few key areas. Communication between departments could sometimes be clearer, especially around deadlines and timetable changes. At busy times of the year, access to study spaces can become limited, and more quiet areas or longer opening hours would make a difference. It would also help if there were more practical, hands-on learning opportunities such as placements, workshops, or industry links, as these really enhance understanding and employability. Overall, the university offers a supportive and stimulating environment, but with better organisation and more resources during peak periods, the student experience could be even stronger.
