Studying at Birmingham City University in the Curzon building is great because of the modern facilities, comfortable study spaces, and central location, which makes everything convenient. It could be improved by adding more quiet study areas during busy times and better communication about timetable updates.

honestly the classes are amazing, very clear why we are learning the topic and for what outcome. i enjoy my studies very much. i think the applications for students can be improved, the fact we cannot print by ourselves is bit ridiculous as we are literally a film school and the info hub only prints till 5pm when classes are till 7pm

I’ve been going to ACM since 2023, at first for my diploma, and currently on it for my degree. The facilities have continued to improve over time with rooms constantly getting refurbished with more facilities and options, studio rooms getting new and improved speakers, 5.1 and atmos sound systems and new gear getting brought in. Recently ACM has also partnered with Nord which have me the chance to use their top of the line synths such as the Grand 4, Piano 6 and Electro 3 which were absolutely insane to use.

I am a mature distance learning student, completing my MA in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics. The online platform is easy to use and the digital library is expansive. All staff have been easy to contact when I need any support, including IT, Finance, Admin, my personal tutor and teaching staff. I have been assigned a mentor to help me stay connected with university life and the Philosophy department. The modules are contemporary, as are the course materials. The student cohort is diverse and we all connect to the course flexibly, from different time zones. I receive a weekly events newsletter which has plenty of options for attending online webinars and socials.

The mental health services aren't good as there is one person looking after all of us. If we apply for counselling or therapy we are allowed maximum of 3 hours split over 3 sessions. That is not a beneficial amount of a student with issues.
