Materials Science degrees in All England

It is a very collaborative and social university, with a nice campus. Some parts of campus are outdated and would benefit from being refurbished however the quality of delivery of my course has been very good. It is a leading sports university so it has been great to be involved in this environment. There are several places to study across campus whether that is collaboratively or individually, which makes it easy to get on with work.

Despite its prestigious reputation, the university as an organisation has been constantly below expectations. However, the students union has been the centre of student life for me and has constantly exceeded expectations

The lecturers are amazing and quite helpful. I did my studies online and I was happy with the entire structure and I’m happy to come here to London to graduate today. However it would be nice for online students to kind of get a tour of the school before or after the graduation and also to include the sweaters with the names as something we can buy while purchasing the gowns before graduation. Otherwise, everything else is (for luck of a better word) perfect!

pros great city, lots of things to do in uni (clubs etc) and outside (bullring etc) big university, so lots of resources, good study spaces cons admin teams for courses can be unorganised wellbeing team are v slow to respond, although great when (if)you eventually get an appointment

The university is great to study at with lots of events and societies to attend. The teaching is excellent however the course is quite intense meaning you have to spend a lot of time studying leaving less time to socialise.

The student life really is something else, and there is a wealth of opportunity available in Leeds. There is a disconnect between the higher ups and students. Undergraduates do not get treated anywhere near as well as postgraduates.

Best: - The diversity of the students - Everything is very accessible and in a good location in terms of city centre and student campuses - Plenty of opportunities to have and things to do Worst: - because it’s such a big university, it can be hard to feel close to lecturers so if I need help with something I don’t really know who to go to - not super clear where/who to go to when I need something

Great buildings and location with great transport links to major cities. Being taught by people who are the best in that field and being able to contribute to their research at an early time in your studies. The tutorial system with very few people in classes making learning much more interactive.

I like how everything is on campus, convenient, I love the study spaces available at varying levels of quietness. The student union is cheap but could do with a bit of updating. I like the assessments we are given, a variety like presentations and essays writing blogs however the feedback could be more informative. I definitely miss home more than I thought so I wish I had chosen a closer uni most of my friends are off campus which makes the weekends and evenings lonely.
