Management Studies degrees in Northern England

What stands out most about my university experience is how much it has pushed me to grow beyond academics. Being surrounded by people from different backgrounds has not only made learning more interesting but has also helped me develop confidence and better interpersonal skills. The lecturers are generally approachable, and when you make the effort to engage, you can get a lot of support. I also appreciate the access to study resources, especially online materials, which make learning more flexible.

There are excellent lecturers and student support services (particularly academic skills). The campus has a good feel and has a lot of outdoor seating which will be nice when the weather is warm. Lecture rooms are good but the seats are very uncomfortable. There is little impact from the students' union, for example there was no 'refreshers fayre' for January intake students, which also impacts the student life score.

i have come back into education after 2 years and the college has supported me through my foundation degree. it has given me that confidence and being able to believe in myself and do the best of my ability.

University of Hull has a beautiful and serene environment suitable for learning and even relaxing. The lecturers are very warm and receptive. Things that could be improved: student union (I don’t really see what they do, I’m sorry); the university should make arrangements with more landlords in order to make students living easier; Timetable should be more flexible (we asked for a change in my department but nothing was done)

University of Salford is a great place to study because it offers strong industry connections, modern facilities, and practical learning opportunities that prepare students for real careers. Its location near Manchester provides access to a vibrant city, diverse culture, and many professional networks, while the campus itself offers supportive learning spaces, libraries, and collaborative environments. The university also emphasizes employability through placements, industry-led projects, and partnerships with businesses. However, it could be improved by expanding student support services, increasing study and social spaces during busy periods, and providing more affordable accommodation options to better support students’ wellbeing and academic success.

I think the support is great. The course is good however I personally do not enjoy the lectures in third year. I feel the atmosphere is great and the library is a lovely place to study. My only complaint is that parking is quite limited as you have to arrive 1-2hours before just make sure you have time to find a space.
