What students say about international-economics

The University offers state of the art facilities and faculty and striving hard to let the student have great experience of university life. I would request to collaborate with industries and help international student gain internships and part time work experience current career space is not that collaborative with industries or one on one with students effectively. Rest a great learning experience highly recommended.

What students say about international-economics

I want to study emerging economies and learn languages and it’s easily one of the best places in the world for that. There really is a global focus. The library is amazing. It really punches above its weight in terms of the staff and resources you get access to. The location is amazing. Bloomsbury is so nice. Russel Square is the loveliest park ever, It’s a small campus uni but we get access to all of london around us so it doesn’t feel small at all. People at SOAS are very nice, but not necessarily as outgoing as other unis. But you’re in london so you don’t really have to worry about that to be honest: If you don’t make many friends here, there’s many other unis nearby. However I will say that it’s definitely not very diverse in terms of politics. Most people here are extremely left wing and students and staff don’t respond very well to dissenting ideas. Even though it’s very ethnically diverse, most students have extremely similar worldviews and ways of approaching things, which isn’t ideal for intellectual exploration.

The careers team is amazing at posting job listings. They are so proactive in getting you the right support and I love that about them. And I think the structure of some teaching material could be improved with bringing the right balance of AI into studies

Best is socials! I’ve joined the swimming club and the team are great, lots of training available with good coaches and fun nights out. I’ve made so many friends. Worst is the food in campus is quite expensive. There are free breakfast schemes sometimes but not enough and the cafes aren’t really subsidised.

It might not be university specific, but the difficulties in commuting has a big impact. The university has been negotiating with the first bus, however, the busses are always full because of sudden cancellations. Since university is at the top of the hill, I would hope this to be improved significantly so I wouldn’t have to walk up or take an uber up which makes me too tiring to concentrate on lectures.

The location in central London not far from where the UKs decisions are made is amazing. The library has most of the resources I need and if you can’t find something the library staff will happily try and make it available. The thing where the uni lets us down the most is admin.

What students say about international-economics

Nightlife scene doesn't offer much variation but that condenses the people to certain few spots to go out which is really good - the university has a nice mix of modern technology and building whilst maintaining beautiful green spaces and older and more elegant buildings - with 2 campuses in Exeter and one in Penryn there's plenty of variation for where you wish to study and a good range of modules and courses on offer. sometimes the support system can be difficult to navigate but I have noticed improvement in this once you do reach out to them and an increasing level of support, mentors and places where to find any range of support you may need. The city itself is relatively small but that gives it a lovely cosy feel and being near the beach at Exmouth you can always get away from this especially in the summer!!

What students say about international-economics

The university is a great place to study because of the strong academic support, inclusive campus culture, and wide range of opportunities available to students. There are excellent learning resources, tailored academic support services, and an active student community supported by a vibrant campus and a lively city environment. The commitment to widening participation, student engagement, and wellbeing creates an environment where students feel supported and encouraged to succeed. To improve further, there could be more targeted support and events for commuting students, as well as greater visibility and celebration of key cultural and social events to ensure all students feel represented and included. Building on these areas would help strengthen an already positive and diverse student experience.
