My PAT and tutors are very supportive they help me whenever I am in need. This helps me to tackle the issues faced. ISS team could be more active as they can help new students. Also more programs could add to make it more interactive. Food price could be reduced in market place.

The best aspects would be the environment and the decorations around campus that makes it a lot more comforting and a more positive environment to work, the university could improve on some of the scheduling of lectures and seminars.

As a commuting student who drives to uni, the uni is in a great location and the Brookfield car park is perfect for me as my lectures are in Brookfield. The walk between Brookfield and the main campus is nice. The course is organised and set out nicely. More quiet study areas in the Brookfield campus would be nice, as well as information about where to study on campus that isn’t the main library.

The University of Wolverhampton has multiple campuses and the 'feel' you get will vary according to the Faculty you study with. For example, if you study Education, Healthcare or Sport, you will be mainly at the Walsall campus, which is located in a very safe, affluent part of the town and has a spacious, leafy feel and lots of car parking space. In other Faculties, you will be based mainly in the city centre of Wolverhampton itself. This means your experience has a big city, 'urban' feel. Great if you like to be close to nightlife and shopping ! Libraries are at all campuses, with friendly staff who are very patient. The online access to books and papers is also fantastic if you do research and study at home. The university is popular with international students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. This adds to the richness of your student experience, as you can meet and make friends with people from all over the world. Furthermore, like many of the modern, teaching universities, it has always played a central part in its local community. The university has stayed true to its 'roots' in this respect and still welcomes local students from the West Midlands and Staffordshire in the 21st century. Lots of students live at home and commute to university every day, as this represents a big financial saving for them. Again, this trend is becoming increasingly common nationally, and so may be an option for you. Part of the reason the university is so much part of the local community is its history of being the choice of university for local mature students. If you are a mature student (like me!) who is considering which university to choose, Wolverhampton will prove to be an excellent choice as it has a proven and longstanding track record in the field. Staff are very accustomed to working with students of all age groups. Staff are very experienced and very approachable. There is very much a 'caring' culture among staff at the university, which makes it a god choice if you are feeling anxious about starting at university. In addition, there is 24/7 support available for students, so there is always someone there to support you if you are experiencing any kind of difficulties. There is just one thing I would like to see improve. During term time, Monday to Friday, there used to be free buses which connected the Walsall and Wolverhampton city campuses door to door. These were stopped in 2024, and it would be good to see them back again. Having said that, there are local buses which run a similar route and they run from dawn to late Monday to Sunday !

Newman University offers a personalized learning environment, where students receive individual attention from faculty members. Small class sizes allow for more meaningful interactions with professors, ensuring that students can get the help they need to succeed. This promotes a close-knit academic community and enhances the overall learning experience.

I have read complaints stating students have not had guidance. There is plenty of guidance but it takes the student in question to pursue this, after all, it is to some extent unguided learning. There are plenty of classes you can join morning, noon and night. I was joining classes whilst away on holiday from my phone (ms teams) which was great. Throughout the various modules of my MBA there were good and bad lecturers, but the bad was 1 out the entire course, and unfortunately I think she happened to inexperienced, the rest where fantastic. The wider support around those providing the training and admin support for element such as general queries is where the university does fall down for two reasons: 1) When contacting an email address that appears on the face of it to be correct, you get told to message another, which is usually incorrect as well 🤷🏻♂️. They is really poor as the customer/student expects them to just provide the info rather than get sent round the houses. 2) Trying to get a response in the first place is quite difficult. Don’t let these points put you off as I had someone studying with the Open University who had a similar experience, so presumably it’s an issue with distance learning universities? Would I study with them again, yes! However, I would advise others to think about their learning style before pursuing with Arden , as it does take some getting used to studying with them if for instance you are an in person.

The best aspects of my uni experience are the nights that are put on at pop world becuase they bring a lot of attention to students and can make nights out fun. The worst aspect is the student support, we get access to support plans if we are eligible but we are limited to what support we get, we also have a careers advisor centre which i have been to before, however i didnt find it helpful or useful

Best aspect is the support you can receive and the fact that there are numerous kinds of support available, whether it is be work support or help with background information. Worst Aspect in my opinion is the location as compared to city campus as it is in the centre of Nottingham so its very easy and close to arrive. However Clifton is located around South of Nottingham so it takes a decent while to get there compared to the city campus.

De Montfort University feels fresh and on the up. It has good support mechanisms for students, including counselling available for all, although this was limited as demand was high. The facilities varied widely depending on school and faculty. The arts students enjoy the modern Vijay Patel Building, while healthcare students such as myself were in the Hawthorne Building, one of the oldest on the campus and quite dated in its facilities. This could be improved to provide greater equality between faculties and encourage investment into STEM subjects.
