What students say about healthcare-science

The location of the uni is great - a very inviting environment all around. The main building and the SU are basically inside parks, which makes going about your day on campus quite pleasant. The lecturers and tutors tend to be very responsive and eager to help in any way they can. I haven't experienced any form of.. let's say, embarrassment when asking for help. The welcoming vibes from the faculty is just amazing. The SU is also really great! Just the amount of little events being hosted there is incredible! Almost every week you'd walk into the building, and there's a stall in the hall with people giving out free salad bowls. Stuff like that, I find, boosts the morale and the feeling of being welcomed and wanted as a student. As well as that, the countless clubs and societies are such a great ay of bringing people together. I am a part of the Traditional Crafts society, which is hosted at SU, and I've learnt skills with the society I never thought I would...like, leather binding…? Wow! I'm terms of improvement, nothing comes to mind. Perhaps, some sort of signage around campus could be great? With the amount of little tiny offices all around the Botanic, it can sometimes be really difficult to find the one you're looking for. Looking for street signs can sometimes be time consuminh and, frankly, annoying. So, like a classic arrows-on-a-pole kinda thing would be amazing!

What students say about healthcare-science

It is good as there is a plethora of support available for all kinds of needs, however, the learning methods are very monotone and there is no atmosphere in the lessons, but this is largely down to the unenthusiasm of a lot of students. Additionally, the facilities are decent but no better than the ones at I had at college, there is just a greater quantity of them. Given that you have to pay for university but not college, you would expect there to be significantly better facilities at a university compared to a college

What students say about healthcare-science

Best aspect: One positive aspect of university is the financial resources available to support students, such as scholarships, bursaries, grants, and access to part-time work on or near campus. These resources can reduce financial pressure and allow students to focus more on their studies. Universities also often provide access to subsidised facilities, learning resources, and student discounts, which can make higher education more affordable compared to managing these costs independently. Worst aspect / areas for improvement: Despite these resources, financial support is often limited, competitive, or not well advertised, leaving many students unaware of the help available to them. Living costs, accommodation fees, and international tuition fees continue to rise, which can cause significant financial stress. Universities could improve by expanding financial aid, offering clearer guidance on available funding, and providing more consistent support for students facing unexpected financial difficulties.

What students say about healthcare-science

I really like Keele University because of it’s beautiful campus, it feels very safe and as a person living on campus I do not feel scared, within the campus. I am really happy with the campus security too which adds an extra relief for me as a student, I do however feel that the Keele Practice needs more improvement along with 24 hour service in cases of emergency. The campus is far from the main city so it does get hard to access major facilities like the A and E. I also feel that the lack of gluten free and lactose free supplies within the campus for students with intolerance or severe allergies to these food products becomes more of a burden, as a person with colitis myself and several allergies it is hard to find snacks in the co op along with food supplies to make a meal, as I said that the main city side is very far so to get access to good food supplies takes time and effort rather than just going to the co op which has limited allergy free stuff or even the campus restaurants or cafés which face the same problem. Otherwise I do not have any complaints towards staff or the teaching team, I do find it fairly satisfactory

The University has lots of resources and study spaces. I love the fact that I can borrow a laptop for 24hours. There is a lot of student support in terms of CV writing and also academic support via mentors.
