Clifton has a solid, tight-knit student village feel compared to the city. It’s got everything you need on one site: great sports facilities, a massive SU, and a much more chilled, green vibe while still being a quick bus ride from the Nottingham madness. It feels like its own little world where you actually know everyone you walk past

Limited amount of shops in Lincoln, which makes it get a bit stale quick, but is still a lovely city with plenty of things to do. Another downside is the fact it is in the middle of nowhere, you have to get trains or coaches if you want to go anywhere else. However, it does have everything you need as a student, with a good night out as well

Pros: "The sense of community and the support from the Students' Union have been highlights of my time here. The campus facilities are modern, and there’s a great balance between academic rigour and social opportunities." Cons: "While the facilities are excellent, some of the older study spaces could benefit from more power outlets to accommodate students during peak exam seasons."

One of the best aspects of studying at De Montfort University is the supportive and diverse environment. As an international student, I feel welcomed and included. The university has strong student support services, especially the Disability Advice and Support team, who are understanding and helpful. The MSc Project Management course is practical and career-focused. The modules are well-structured, and seminars encourage discussion and real-life application of concepts. The lecturers are approachable and provide useful feedback on assignments. Student life in Leicester is also a positive experience. The city is affordable compared to other UK cities, and everything is accessible. The campus facilities, including the library and study spaces, are modern and comfortable for independent learning. While the university offers good support, sometimes communication about attendance expectations and academic requirements could be clearer, especially for students managing health or personal challenges. In addition, more flexibility in seminar attendance for students with documented disabilities could make the experience less stressful. Providing recorded seminar discussions (where possible) would help students who occasionally cannot attend in person. Overall, De Montfort University is a supportive and career-oriented institution, but improving flexibility and communication would make it even better.

The campus has a lovely and homey feel; it isn't too big to get lost in, and all the staff are amazing! The facilities and library are well kept up with the addition the student ambassadors have put into the university.

Best aspects: The University of Leicester offers a supportive and inclusive environment that really helps students thrive. The lecturers are approachable and knowledgeable, and the small class sizes make it easier to engage in discussions and get personalised feedback. The campus is well-equipped, with excellent library resources, study spaces, and modern facilities that make learning comfortable and accessible. There’s also a strong sense of community, with societies and events that help students feel connected and develop both academically and socially. Worst aspects / areas for improvement: Some aspects could be improved, such as streamlining administrative processes like module registration or access to certain student services, which can sometimes be slow or confusing. Additionally, while the campus has great facilities, certain areas like student accommodation or social spaces could benefit from more modernisation or expansion to meet the growing student population. Enhancing mental health support and making sure all services are easy to access online would also make the student experience even better.

Loughborough is very accessible and has lots to offer solely on the campus, luckily it’s only a short walk into town for more as well! I do think some sort of student bus card for the sprint bus when going into town would be great as a trip is £3.

Good sporting Uni/College campus. With plenty of opportunities as a college undergrad to partake in university activities. However building in the college is outdated, thankfully a new building should be in place by September 2025
