Genetics degrees in Central England

The campus is easy access, even for someone who isn’t living in student accommodation on campus. Every member of staff and member of the student union that I’ve spoken to has been extremely helpful and has helped to clarify any issues that I’ve been having. The university of Leicester is a challenging, yet exciting institution to study at.

The teachers are very supportive, they are friendly as well. If someone seeks any help related to the study, the teachers are always there to help them. The other good thing is if someone missed any lectures they can still see the recorded session through blackboard which makes it a great place to study. There are some problems as well. Most of the time the printer does not work which is a great problem and it would be better if there's a proper guideline for these students who want to use the public area pc cause I have seen a lot of students looking for it. We have not received any supervisor yet, it would be great if we can learn that who is our supervisor as soon as possible because we have to do a lot of work about the assessments and we will need advice from our supervisors.

Best - Love the fields and the lake - great lecturers - my course structure and content is great - great people very friendly - societies and sports are decent - public transport is decent - Y2K is good - bar is good atmosphere, great music, pool, kareoke, etc Worst - a lot of buildings seem run down and un used - when I first got here the amount of admin I had to do to set everything up was so annoying and long - Norwich isn’t a great city getting more unsafe and expensive - SU pints are becoming very expensive - construction has been going on for ages - in first year maintenance were over all the time, sometimes very early on Sundays for very unnecessary reasons and sometimes cos everything was broken - the amount of 9ams I’ve had especially on Thursdays has been a pain especially given how much the SU promotes sports nights - sometimes events aren’t really promoted at all and you just have to hear about them through the grapevine - quite often busses into the city don’t turn up at all which is VERY annoying - tap water in Britten house was gross, as were the showers, could CONSTANTLY smell sewage - single beds !!!!

It’s a great place to study because of the excellent student-teacher relationships, they don’t make it all about education, they also add experiences to it. What could be improved is public university events that can bring everyone together eg. Bonfire x fireworks night/celebration
